NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Six people were injured Friday in a chain-reaction crash involving at least six vehicles on the Grand Central Parkway in Queens, police said.

The crash started shortly before 6 a.m. near Jewel Avenue in the eastbound lanes of the parkway in Forest Hills.
A vehicle swerved into another vehicle, causing the two vehicles to get into a crash.
Two vehicles behind them also collided, and debris from that crash sparked a third collision between a third pair of vehicles, police said.

At least six people were hurt, all of them with minor injuries, according to police.
WABC reported that one of the collisions happened in the westbound lanes of the parkway after debris flew over the median.
Multiple lanes of the parkway were shut down as crews cleared the area of debris, leading to extensive delays.
