
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Six people were injured in a fire in Brooklyn early Monday, including two firefighters and a 4-year-old boy, officials said.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at approximately 1:15 a.m. at a building located at 2300 Pitkin Avenue in East New York.
Upon arrival, firefighters found residents screaming out the windows for help according to WABC-TV.
Firefighter rescued a four-year-old boy who was rushed to the burn unit at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Cornell.
He was reported to have serious injuries.
Two firefighters also suffered minor injures in the flames.
Two 37-year-old women and an 18-year-old boy were taken to an area hospital for smoke inhalation.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
