NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Bronx deliveryman was run over and injured by his own vehicle as a thief drove off in it, police said Thursday as they released images of the suspect.

The 25-year-old victim was making a delivery at Clay Avenue and E. 175th Street in Mount Hope around 11 a.m. on Oct. 15 when another man hopped in his vehicle.

The deliveryman tried to stop the thief from driving away and was struck by the vehicle as the crook fled, police said.

The victim suffered multiple lacerations, bruises and swelling all over his body.

EMS transported him in stable condition to St. Barnabas Hospital.

It's unclear if the vehicle was eventually recovered. Images show the suspect carrying large garbage bags down a street.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
