Bronx gunfire exchange interrupted when NYPD sergeant fired at suspect

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An early morning gunfight between two men in the Bronx was interrupted by an NYPD sergeant, the New York Post reported.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. when the two men were on Morrison Avenue and Westchester Avenue in Soundview, police said.

One of the men was firing his gun from outside an apartment building while the other was near a red car when the sergeant approached them.

The sergeant shot once at the man near the building, according to officials. The gunman ran inside while the other got into his car and fled the scene.
