Jelani Green, 25, died at St. Barnabas Hospital on Tuesday.

Green, of the Bronx, was rushed to the hospital on June 19 after being hit by the bullet around 8:45 p.m. Her condition was described as stable at the time.

Green was struck at the Half-Nelson Playground on Nelson Avenue in Morris Heights. The playground was busy that night for Juneteenth and Father’s Day celebrations.

Police believe Green was a bystander who wasn’t the intended target of the possibly gang-related shooting. She lived just a few blocks from the playground.

No arrests have been made in the shooting.
