NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A mother and her boyfriend were charged with the murder of her 8-year-old son in the Bronx on Monday over nine months after he died at a hospital, police said.
Sharay Barney, 29, and Michael Ransom, 33, were both charged with murder, manslaughter, and aggravated manslaughter.

The death of Joseph Barney, who had autism, was ruled a homicide months after he was found lifeless at his Bronx home, police said last week amid a report he was the victim of repeated beatings.
Barney's mother brought him to Montefiore Medical Center on June 1 from the family’s apartment on E. 214th Street in Williamsbridge.
The boy was unconscious and unresponsive, with no visible signs of trauma, when he arrived at the hospital. He was later pronounced dead.
