NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A subway rider was stabbed in the chest while inside a Bronx subway station early Friday, police said.
The victim, whose age is not yet known, was inside the 6 train station at Longwood Avenue and Southern Boulevard when his attacker stabbed him just before 6 a.m.
He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition, according to police.
The alleged stabber, who is in his 20s, was taken into custody with charges pending.
It wasn't immediately clear what caused the stabbing, whether the victim knew the assailant, or whether it took place aboard a train at the time.
The knifing on Friday morning is just one in a string of recent attacks on the city's subway system.
