NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An on-duty MTA train conductor was hit in the face with a bottle on the Upper West Side Friday morning, police said.

The woman was attacked just before 8 a.m. on a northbound B train at the 81st Street-Museum of Natural History subway station.

Police said the man attacked her with the bottle containing an "unknown liquid substance" and then ran off.

It’s unclear if some sort of dispute precipitated the attack.

After the incident, the victim was conscious and alert and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
