NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police shot a man while responding to reports of a person armed with a gun in a Bronx subway station Thursday evening.

Police responded to reports of a man with a gun at the 231st Street subway station in Kingsbridge around 8 p.m., according to officials.

Officers spotted a suspect with a firearm and demanded he drop the weapon. Police claim he ran at the officers, and one of them shot him in the hand.

Emergency responders brought the man to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

No one else was injured during the incident.

The shooting came just hours after two other incidents in which police shot two other men.

Around 1:15 p.m., police killed a 78-year-old man in Brooklyn who authorities claim pointed a gun at officers.

Around 3:40 p.m., officers shot and then tazed a man who allegedly stabbed a church security guard in Queens.
