NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are looking to identify three armed suspects wanted for pistol-whipping a man in a robbery on a Bronx street last month, authorities said.
At approximately 2:20 p.m., on Friday, February 17, a 42-year-old man was walking to his vehicle in the vicinity of Tiffany Street and Lafayette Avenue in Hunts Point.
The victim was approached by three men displaying a firearm who attempted to forcibly remove his car keys.
When the victim resisted, one of the suspects grabbed him while another individual hit the victim in the head with the firearm.
The victim was able to escape and run away from the location as the suspects ran in his direction, officials said.
One of the suspects returned to the location and broke the window to the victim’s vehicle while simultaneously discharging a round from his firearm, police said.
The suspect took a bag from the vehicle containing miscellaneous property belonging to the victim and fled on foot northbound toward Lafayette Avenue.
Anyone with information in regard to these incidents is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
