E-bike rider fatally struck by SUV in Bronx hit-and-run

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after an e-bike rider was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in the Bronx early Wednesday, authorities said.

According to officials, at approximately 6:30 a.m., the 29-year-old man was approaching Tiffany and Barry street. in Hunts Point when he was struck by dark-colored SUV.

EMS rushed the man to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where he was pronounced dead.

The victim's identity has not been released.

The driver did not stop an continued driving, cops said.

An investigation remains ongoing.

Last month, a 20-year-old man was killed when a careless driver opened her car door while he was riding an e-bike past her vehicle in Queens’ Jamaica Hills neighborhood, according to police.
