NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 8800) – A 12-year-old girl was hit by flying glass at a Brooklyn subway station when a man threw a bottle on the floor, police said Friday as they released an image of the suspect.

The girl was leaving the Rockaway Avenue 2/3 station in Brownsville with her family at 8:15 p.m. on July 31 when the man hurled a glass bottle onto the mezzanine floor.

The bottle shattered and glass rained down on the girl, police said.

Pieces of shattered glass hit her left arm, causing multiple lacerations to her wrist area. No other injuries were reported.

EMS transported the child to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in stable condition.

The man fled the station and remains at large.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
