NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A speeding driver ran over an 8-year-old girl and kept going in Brooklyn this week, leaving the child in serious condition with multiple broken bones, police said Thursday as they released images of the suspect's car.

The girl was walking with her 13-year-old brother and 16-year-old sister near the corner of Sutter and Christopher avenues in Brownsville at 4:30 p.m. Monday when a gray Nissan Altima on Sutter Avenue struck her at a "high rate of speed."

The driver didn't stop, instead fleeing eastbound on Sutter Avenue and turning left onto Powell Street, police said.

The girl suffered serious injuries, including a fractured leg and a broken pelvis.

She was transported by EMS to Maimonides Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition.

The girl's brother and sister were not injured in the crash.

The scene is adjacent to the Carter G. Woodson Children's Park and Public School 150 Christopher.
