NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested a suspect accused of stabbing a good Samaritan on a Bronx subway train Sunday night after he defended a woman who was being harassed, authorities said.

At about 9 p.m., the 54-year-old rider witnessed the woman being bothered while aboard a southbound 4 train, officials said.

When the rider attempted to step in and intervene, the 42-year-old suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim as the train pulled into East 149th Street & Grand Concourse station in the South Bronx, cops said.

The victim was stabbed in the left elbow and transported to Lincoln Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect was arrested at the scene with charges pending.

Just hours after the stabbing, a 23-year-old man was stabbed in the chest at the A line’s 111th Street station in South Richmond Hill early Monday morning. Less than an hour after that, a 25-year-old was slashed in the face at the Cypress Hills station in Brooklyn.
