Gunman, 18, arrested after victim sitting in vehicle repeatedly shot in Washington Heights

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested an 18-year-old gunman in connection to a shooting that occurred in Upper Manhattan last week, authorities said.

Jayden Estrella was charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

At approximately 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, the victim, a 26-year-old man was sitting in the back of a vehicle in front of 4126 Broadway in Washington Heights, when Estrella approached the back of the vehicle, officials said.

Estrella then displayed a firearm and discharged several rounds at the victim, striking him twice in the right arm and once to the left arm, the NYPD said. He also suffered a grazing wound to the face.

There were no other reported injuries as a result of this incident.
