The MTA notes that the testing sites are open to anyone, including those visiting New York, and appointments are not necessary.

“We are continuing to fight the winter surge with every tool at our disposal, and making sure testing is widely available remains a key part of our strategy,” Hochul said.

“As we remind New Yorkers to come back to work, we want you to know that the subways are safe, and testing is readily available at many stations,” she added. “It’s easy and quick, so come out and take advantage of this easy way to ensure you and your loved ones are safe.”

The MTA said anyone looking for a COVID-19 vaccine, or a booster shot, can also receive their dose at Times Square-42nd Street and Grand Central Terminal.

Currently, Moderna vaccines and boosters are being offered at the MTA locations.

Since May, the MTA and New York State have vaccinated more than 38,000 people at the pop-up sites in the New York City subway system.
