Knife-wielding man punches MTA worker inside Bronx subway station

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD on Wednesday released video footage of a knife-wielding man accused of threatening then punching an MTA employee at a Bronx subway station.

At 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, the suspect approached an on-duty MTA employee at the 182-183 Street train station in Fordham Heights and engaged him in a verbal dispute, officials said.

According to police, the suspect displayed a knife, threatened to stab him, and then punched him in the face.

The suspect then fled out of the station in an unknown direction.

EMS transported the victim to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The suspect was last seen wearing a gray baseball cap, black shorts, a black t-shirt and sneakers.
