NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 35-year-old man was arrested and charged with the fatal stabbing of a 24-year-old man in front of a parking lot near Times Square earlier this month.
John Wright, who is homeless, was charged with murder and criminal weapons possession in the death of Carlos Rosario of Brooklyn.
The deadly encounter occurred on Dec. 6 just after 11 p.m. in front of a parking garage at 350 West 42nd Street, according to officials.
Rosario was found by officers responding to a call of an assault with a stab wound to his torso. He was transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Bellevue where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation revealed that Rosario had gotten into a verbal dispute with Wright which escalated and led to the stabbing. According to the Daily News, the argument broke out after one man asked the other for a cigarette.
