
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was charged with murder after the stabbing death of a man in an Upper West Side building on Wednesday, authorities said.
At approximately 7:15 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of an assault inside of 316 West 97th St. where officers observed a man unconscious and unresponsive, with a stab wound to the torso, in the stairwell area.
EMS transported the victim to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officials took in 60-year-old Michael Perkins into custody from the scene.
Perkins was charged with murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon on Thursday.
