NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 63-year-old man was struck and killed by an MTA bus in Queens on Tuesday evening, reportedly as he rushed to a doctor’s office with his wife.

Officers responding to a 911 call found the victim, Nazmul Ahsan, lying on the roadway at Broadway and 37th Road in Jackson Heights shortly before 7:30 p.m.
Police said the bus driver had a green light when he struck Ahsan in a crosswalk.
Ahsan was hit by the bumper of the bus and knocked to the pavement. He suffered head trauma and was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital but did not survive.
The 54-year-old bus driver remained at the scene and was not injured. Police said no arrests have been made.
Ahsan was rushing to a doctor’s office with his wife at the time he was hit, witnesses told the Daily News. Police said he was walking against the pedestrian signal.
“He was in a hurry, and he told me he was going to the doctor’s office,” an employee of a nearby cell phone shop told the Daily News. “His wife was with him, but she went to the doctor’s office first.”
