Man beaten into critical condition, robbed of e-bike in W. Village

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man was left critically injured after he was beaten with a bike lock and robbed of his e-bike in the West Village, police said Thursday as they released images of the attacker.

According to police, the 32-year-old victim was standing at the corner of 8th Avenue South and Bedford Street Wednesday around 12:40 p.m. when the suspect got into an argument with him.

The assailant then bashed the victim with the lock, causing multiple lacerations to the victim's face, before stealing his e-bike worth $500 and fleeing the scene.

The victim was removed to NYC Health & Hospitals/Bellevue in critical but stable condition.
