
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man standing on a Manhattan street corner was beaten with a belt and repeatedly punched in an unprovoked attack, police said Friday amid a search for a suspect.

The 54-year-old victim was standing in front of 127 West 25 St., between Sixth and Seventh avenues, in Chelsea around 3:15 p.m. on June 24 when his attacker came up and started hitting him with a belt.
The assailant also repeatedly punched the victim in the head with a closed fist, police said. He then fled the area on foot.
The victim suffered a gash to his head. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
Photos released Friday show the suspect walking down a sidewalk.
