NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man was arrested Saturday night for throwing a bottle at an occupied NYPD van in Harlem, police said.
Albert Plummer, 38, is accused of hurling the bottle at the rear driver’s side window of a marked police van in front of the Apollo Theater at West 125th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard around 10:40 p.m.
Two officers inside the van sustained minor injuries, police said.
Plummer was charged with assault, menacing, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.
Despite protests across the country over the death of Tyre Nichols in Memphis, police told the New York Post that the incident was not part of a protest.
Plummer has been arrested about 40 times and reportedly has a history of fighting police officers and committing criminal mischief.
