NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was charged in connection to a fatal stabbing involving a "love triangle" in the Bronx early Tuesday, authorities said Wednesday.

Joseph Gomez, 21, was arrested at 12:15 p.m., and charged with murder, manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of assault.

At about 3:17 a.m. on July 4, police responded to a 911 call of a male stabbed in front of 3286 Radio Dr. in the Country Club neighborhood.

Upon arrival, officers observed a man with multiple stab wounds to the torso.

The victim was later identified as 26-year-old Luis Cartagena.

Cartagena was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi where he was pronounced dead.

The fatal stabbing involved a "love triangle" between Gomez, Cartagena and Cartagena's girlfriend, the Daily News reported.

As Cartagena and his girlfriend argued over the alleged affair, Gomez plunged a knife into Cartagena's heart, according to the report.
