Man gunned down in Chinatown during morning rush

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man was shot and wounded on a street in Chinatown during the Tuesday morning rush, police said.

The victim was shot in the chest at Henry and Market streets shortly before 9:30 a.m.

EMS transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspected shooter was taken into custody a short time later, with charges against him pending.

It’s unclear if the two men knew each other or what may have precipitated the gunfire. An investigation is ongoing, police said.
