
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Authorities have a suspect in custody after a double stabbing in the Bronx on Wednesday left a man dead and a woman injured.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of an assault inside of 2774 Third Ave., in the South Bronx. Upon arrival, officers observed an unconscious and unresponsive man with a stab wound to the torso.
EMS transported 46-year-old Anthony Carty to NYC Health & Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead.
Additionally, a 49-year-old woman who was present at the incident location had suffered marks on her neck as a result of being choked by the apprehended suspect and her clothes had been slashed by him as well, according to the NYPD.
She was treated at the scene by responding EMS.
Gregory St Surin, 46, was taken into custody and a weapon has been recovered, officials said.
He was charged with murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, assault, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
An investigation is ongoing.
