Man, 28, stabbed to death in bloody Bronx street brawl

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A bloody street fight in the South Bronx early Monday ended with a man fatally stabbed on the sidewalk.

The 28-year-old victim was stabbed multiple times in the body as a group brawled at East 161st Street and Eagle Avenue in Melrose.

EMS rushed him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead. He has not yet been identified.

It's unclear what sparked the deadly fight or how many people were involved, but an unconfirmed report from Citizen put the number at about 15 people.

No arrests had been reported Monday as the investigation continued.

In a separate stabbing overnight, a 42-year-old man was knifed in the stomach and back in front of the New York Hall of Science in Corona, Queens.

Police responded to the scene around 10:45 p.m. He was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst in stable condition.

Police were searching for three men who fled the area on foot.
