Man struck in head with metal pipe on Bronx street, suspect sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials released a photo of a suspect wanted for attacking a man with a metal pipe on a Bronx street on Monday, according to authorities.

The incident happened at approximately 7 a.m. in front of 740 Gerard Ave. in Concourse Village, police said.

A 55-year-old man was approached by the suspect who proceeded to strike the victim in the head with a metal pipe, the NYPD said.

EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.

The suspect fled southbound on Gerard Avenue.

The suspect was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, a blue hooded sweatshirt and sneakers.
