Motorcyclist, 28, killed after sideswiping tractor-trailer, ejecting from bike on Bronx expressway

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 28-year-old man was killed after being ejected from a motorcycle that sideswiped a tractor-trailer on a Bronx expressway Thursday night, police said.

According to the police, the man lost control while operating a 2021 Lance AE Series motorcycle northbound on the Major Deegan Expressway, sideswiping a truck that was moving in the same direction.

He was thrown from his motorcycle and sustained severe trauma to his body as a result. Police responded to the accident in the vicinity of Exit 2B just before 7:30 p.m.

EMS responded and transported the aided male to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was pronounced deceased. His identity has not been released at this time pending family notification.

The 60-year-old male tractor-trailer driver remained on the scene, police said.

The NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad is probing the crash.
