NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Robbers who pistol whipped a 79-year-old woman working at a Queens jewelry store posed as Amazon delivery workers to gain entry, police said at a press conference on Tuesday.

One of the men, holding a cardboard box retrieved from the garbage and wearing an Amazon package, rang the buzzer of the Downtown Flushing Jeweler on Feb. 22.

The woman at the shop told the man to leave the package, and, when she came to retrieve it about a minute later, two men allegedly attacked her.

The men pistol whipped her in the head and dragged her along the floor, authorities said.

The robbers smashed display cases and stole about $500,000 worth of jewelry before fleeing with two lookouts in a black Mercedes, according to police.

The victim suffered bruising on her arms and a blood clot in her head from the attack, said, NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig at Tuesday’s press conference.

Police are asking anyone with information on the robbery to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). Anonymous tips can also be submitted on the Crime Stoppers website or on Twitter @NYPDTips.
