NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Staten Island man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly shot his roommate and then dropped him off at a Staten Island hospital, where he died.
The victim, Timothy Gibbs, 36, was initially thought to have a puncture wound in his upper right arm when he was taken to Staten Island University Hospital South on the night of Oct. 19, but doctors soon discovered he had a bullet lodged in his chest.
He was pronounced dead a short time later.
Masud Khan, 30, and a woman dropped the victim off at the hospital before driving away, police said.
Khan has been charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. The woman has yet to be arrested.
Both Kahn and the victim had the same address on Arden Avenue in Eltingville, police said.
According to SILive.com, an investigation found that there may have been an argument between Gibbs and his roommate, Khan, which resulted in the shooting.
People in the vicinity of their home heard a shot coming from where both Khan and Gibbs were at the time, a source with knowledge of the investigation told the outlet.
Police told the Daily News that Gibbs had 12 prior arrests, including for grand larceny, assault and robbery. Khan also reportedly has an arrest record.
