NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police on Thursday released a sketch of a man they are looking to identify in an attempted rape that occurred inside Prospect Park earlier this week.

At approximately 9:15 p.m. on Monday, June 19, a 27-year-old woman was walking inside of Prospect Park in the vicinity of Dog Beach and Fallkill Falls when the suspect approached her from behind and lifted up her skirt, officials said.

The suspect then attempted to pull the victim's underwear down and pushed her to the ground before fleeing on foot to parts unknown.

The victim suffered minor lacerations to the left and right knees and feet but refused medical attention at the scene.

The suspect is described as a man, approximately 30 to 40 years of age, medium complexion, medium build and possibly was last seen wearing a white hat.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
