
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested a 19-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing his father inside of their Queens home Thursday night, authorities said.
Police responded at 12:47 a.m. to a 911 call of a violent emotionally disturbed person with a knife inside of 146-21 230 St. in Jamaica.
Upon arrival, police encountered a 19-year-old man armed with a knife who then attempted to barricade himself inside of the residence.
Police were able to gain entry inside of the residence and observed a 60-year-old man with stab wounds to his chest and a slash wound to his arm.
Police successfully deployed a conducted taser before taking him into custody.
Officials were then immediately able to render aid to the 60-year-old man, who was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/ Jamaica, where he was pronounced dead.
The 19-year-old man was transported to Long Island Jewish Hospital for evaluation.
The knife was recovered at the scene.
The victim and suspect are father and son, according to the Daily News.
Authorities have not released the victim's name and an investigation is ongoing.
