Suspect attempts to stab Brooklyn deli employee, returns and opens fire into store: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a suspect accused of attempting to stab a Brooklyn deli employee, then returning with a gun and shooting into the store.

Just before 10 a.m. on Saturday April 15, the suspect entered a deli located at 1376 Rockaway Parkway in Canarsie and became engaged in a dispute with a 41-year-old male employee.

The suspect punched the employee and attempted to stab him with a knife before exiting the store, officials said.

According to officials, the suspect returned a short time later with a firearm and discharged two rounds into the store.

He then fled in a black Mercedes Benz SUV northbound on East 96th Street, cops said.

The employee refused medical attention on scene.

There were no reported injuries as a result of the discharged firearm.

The suspect was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and brown shoes.
