Suspect, 60, in custody after cousin, 72, found dead on bed in Brooklyn apartment: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials took a suspect into custody after getting into a fight with his cousin who was found dead on a bed inside a Brooklyn apartment early Thursday, authorities said.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of an unconscious man inside of an apartment located at Kosciuszko Street near Tompkins Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 72-year-old man, unconscious and unresponsive, lying in bed at the location, with sustained head trauma.

EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation determined that the 72-year-old man was involved in a physical fight with his cousin, a 60-year-old man at the location.

The 60-year-old man was taken into custody with charges pending.

There were no weapons recovered and the investigation remains ongoing.

The identity of the victim is pending proper family notification.
