Police said the incident began after the 56-year-old taxi driver picked up five males in front of a Crotona Park North building on Oct. 5 at around 2:25 a.m.

At gunpoint, the robbers then stole two cellphones, a Nike bag and approximately $130 and then demanded he get out of his Toyota Camry cab.

Authorities said the men then drove the car more than 15 minutes away and abandoned in front of a building on Jackson Avenue and East 141 Street. The group then fled eastbound.

The NYPD said the males are described as dark-skinned, approximately 17 to 21 years of age.

Anyone with information regarding this pattern is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-8477.
