NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 7-Eleven worker was attacked in Manhattan after he confronted a group of shoplifters who were throwing merchandise in the store, police said Thursday as they searched for multiple suspects.
The 33-year-old employee was working at the 7-Eleven at E. 23rd Street and Park Avenue South in Gramercy around 6:50 p.m. on Oct. 6, when the group entered the store and started shoplifting and hurling items.
The worker tried to intervene, but the group threw objects at him, striking him in the face, police said.

Chaotic video shows the group tossing eggs and other items at the worker, who seeks cover behind the checkout counter.
The victim suffered a laceration and refused medical attention at the scene.
Police released images of six suspects, including one who appears to be holding a pole.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
