Norayshma Fernandez, 34, was discovered unconscious and unresponsive on the floor inside a unit at 1146 Ogden Ave., with a plastic bag over her head, according to police.

Cops responded around 7:51 p.m. to the 911 call regarding the smell and needed the help of the FDNY to gain access inside. EMS responded and pronounced Fernandez dead at the scene.

She was found face-down in the front bedroom of the apartment, wrapped in a blue and white blanket with a black plastic bag over her head, according to the New York Post.

Fernandez, who lived about a half-mile from where her body was discovered, died of asphyxia, the Post reports.

No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
