The man was hit in the head by the falling container just before 10:30 a.m. at a home on 191st Street, near Northern Boulevard, in Murray Hill.
A Department of Buildings complaint reported that he was “pinned between a dumpster and the house.”
The worker suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
He has not yet been identified.
