Bulk is charged with first degree murder and a related second degree
weapons offense in the death of 49-year-old Gerard Carpinello, of Portland, Pennsylvania, according to prosecutors.
Police first arrested Bulk just after 3 a.m. on July 10 when members of the New Jersey State Police responded to a report of a shooting at a residence on Woodville Road near the intersection of Appaloosa Drive in Millstone.
Carpinello was found at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds, officials said.
He was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries on July 29, officials said.
Bulk was arrested on the night of the shooting and released with conditions following a detention hearing.
He was re-arrested Monday after Carpinello's death on the upgraded charge of murder without incident at his home.
Prosecutors have not released any motive for the shooting.
