SOUTHAMPTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) — The mother of a man accused of sexually assaulting underage cheerleaders he coached was arrested Monday for interfering with the investigation into her son, according to the Medford Township Police Department.

Angela Ryker, the 51-year-old mother of 25-year-old Jonathan Ryker, was charged with criminal contempt and witness tampering.

The younger Ryker was a coach at Access Cheer in Southampton. He was arrested Thursday after a months-long investigation into his alleged sexual abuse.

An investigation was launched after he allegedly sent sexually explicit content to one of the underage cheerleaders in August 2022.

Police identified a second alleged victim during their investigation.

Prosecutors charged him with sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child.

He’s being held in Ocean County Jail ahead of his detention hearing.
