NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A 23-year-old North Arlington man was arrested Thursday for producing child pornography over video chat websites, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
Police raided Edward Torres’ home on Thursday, seizing evidence that he instructed children to pose naked on video chat websites in exchange for payment, according to officials. He would then allegedly record the encounters and share the videos and pictures online.
Prosecutors also accused him of downloading and distributing sexually explicit images of prepubescent and pubescent children.
Torres allegedly attempted to destroy evidence of his crimes once police arrived to execute the search warrant.
Prosecutors charged him with production of child pornography, possession and distribution of child pornography, debauching the morals of a child, endangering the welfare of a child and hindering apprehension.
He’s being held at Bergen County Jail pending his first court date.
