
BALDWIN, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A drunk driver from Queens beat a man to death after getting into a crash with him on Long Island over the weekend, police said Monday.
The shocking road rage confrontation unfolded in Baldwin on Saturday night, according to Nassau County police.
Patrick Destine, 26, of Hollis, was behind the wheel of a 2004 Infiniti G35 when his car collided around 10:50 p.m. with a 2003 Honda minivan driven by a 54-year-old man.
During an argument that followed the crash, Destine attacked the other man and "continuously" kicked him in the head, police said.
Destine allegedly ran off when officers arrived but was arrested after a short foot pursuit.
The unidentified victim was rushed to an area hospital with severe head trauma. He was pronounced dead just after 12 a.m. Sunday.
Destine was charged with second-degree murder and driving while intoxicated.
