AMITYVILLE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a bicyclist on Long Island Tuesday night, authorities said.
According to police, at approximately 8:45 p.m., 56-year-old James Agostino was riding a Huffy Bicycle eastbound on Merrick Road, near Bayview Avenue, in Amityville, when he was struck by a vehicle.
The vehicle, described as a dark colored sedan, fled northbound on Bayview Avenue, officials said.
Agostino was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip in serious condition.
