RYE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Officials on Monday announced the arrest of a serial sexual predator wanted in the assault of a teen girl at a Westchester park last week.

Richard Olmino, 21, allegedly sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl inside Rye Town Park just after midnight Friday, June 23, officials said.

"A male subject approached her, she didn't know from where, began questioning with her and subsequently tackled her in the park and assaulted her," Rye Commissioner of Public Safety Michael Kopy said. "There potentially could be other victims out there who we may discover."

A park security guard interfered in the assault, officials said.

Olmino, who at the time of his arrest was free on bail in connection with an arrest for criminal sexual act on Long Island, was arrested at his home in Port Chester on Saturday.

Authorities said he has a history of indecent exposure and lewdness and is suspected in two other incidents in Rye that occurred in May and June.

Olmino was charged with sexual abuse in the first degree with additional charges currently pending.

Olmino was arraigned and remanded to the Westchester County Jail with no bail. He will return to court on Tuesday.

Anyone with information regarding Olmino is urged to call the Rye Police at 914-967-1234.
