
BELLEROSE TERRACE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Officials are searching for a suspect wanted in a gunpoint jewelry robbery that occurred at a Long Island gas station early Tuesday morning, authorities said.
According to detectives, at 3:15 a.m., a 46-year-old man stopped for gas at the Mobil Gas Station located at 240-40 Jericho Turnpike in Bellerose Terrace.
Before the victim could get out of his car, the suspect approached his vehicle, officials said.
The suspect then pointed what appeared to be a silver firearm wrapped in a blue bandana at the victim and demanded his jewelry.
The victim complied and the suspect fled eastbound on foot towards the Cross Island Parkway.
The suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black sneakers.
