Woman seriously hurt in Suffolk hit-and-run crash: police

HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — A woman was left seriously injured after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Long Island Thursday, police said.

The victim was crossing New York Avenue near Depot Road in Huntington Station around 7:10 p.m. when she was hit by the dark-colored sedan.

The driver then fled the scene southbound on New York Avenue.

Police said she was transported via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital.
