Even “Jeopardy!” isn’t pulling any punches when it comes to the Wilpons.
While the Mets owners are ceding control of to team over the billionaire Steve Cohen, that does not mean they are immune to any more jokes or criticism, or in this case, clues.
On Tuesday night’s “Jeopardy!” the Wilpons were mocked in a clue about Bernie Madoff.
“Oops…Mets owners invested $500 mil. – a ballpark figure – with this man, whose Ponzi Scheme struck out in 2008.”
The Madoff Ponzi Scheme has been a dark cloud haunting the Mets and Wilpons the last 12 years.
But hey, with Steve Cohen and his billions of dollars coming on board, that will be a thing of the past soon enough as both the Wilpons and the Mets can avoid that embarrassment – at least until it comes up again in game show fashion.
