The Mets unveiled their look for Saturday night’s game against the Yankees at Citi Field, which will honor first responders and acknowledge the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

As announced by the team earlier this week, New York will wear caps honoring those first responders, including NYPD, FDNY, New York City’s Correction Department, New York City’s Department of Transportation, and Port Authority Police of New York and New Jersey. But the team will also wear helmets honoring the NYPD and FDNY.

The Mets home uniforms will also say “New York” across the chest, in the same font as their home uniforms from 2001.

The sleeve of each jersey will have an American flag with “9-11-01” stitched alongside.

Ceremonies will include a first pitch thrown by Joe Torre and Bobby Valentine, the Yankees and Mets managers from the 2001 season. Both teams played a part in the city’s healing process following the events of 9/11, with the Mets winning their first game back in New York City following the attacks thanks to a thrilling home run by Mike Piazza, and the Yankees winning three unforgettable games in the Bronx during the 2001 World Series.

This will be the first time both New York teams face off on Sept. 11 since the attacks.
