DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys are still over a month away from offseason workout programs and OTA's, however, it looks as though Dak Prescott, the Cowboys newly minted $160 million man, is getting a jump start on that work.
Prescott, who was seen on twitter working on throwing drills on Wednesday, looks to be making progress as well, which corroborates 105.3 the Fan's Mike Fisher's March 1 report that Prescott's rehabilitation following ankle surgery could allow him to be "100 percent by April.''
And that, via a second source: Dak "should be fully involved in all offseason work.''
“I’m healthy,” Prescott said in February after signing his four-year $160 million extension. “I have followed the doctor’s orders the whole time. I’m getting close. I’ll be ready when it matters.”
Prescott, sustained the injury in Week 5 against the New York Giants, ending his season, propelling the Cowboys to a disastrous 6-10 season under first-year head coach Mike McCarthy.
Before the injury, Prescott was on pace to shatter NFL records in passing, throwing for 1,856 yards, nine touchdowns and four interceptions, while completing 68-percent of his passes in 4.5 games. In fact, before the Prescott was on pace to throw for 6,760 yards through the air -- a full 1,283 yards more than Peyton Manning's 5,477-yard record in 2013.
The Cowboys are set to start OTA's in at some point between late May and early June, and by the looks of it, with a fully healthy Dak Prescott.
